We weren’t going to do chairs. You can buy them everywhere in a wide variety of quality and price. But our clients have continually asked for chairs to match the quality of our tables (you know who you are). So we put it into the think tank. What innovation could Geek Chic bring to the chair? They had to be beautiful, durable, and above all, comfortable. The result: even skeptical backsides are won over by the most comfortable wooden chair in existence.
Let's be clear: these things are expensive. It's not reverse psychology. 8 Hour Chairs are actually not for everyone. We're sorry. You're welcome.
Foundation
Chairs
Chairs include choice of wood (walnut, cherry, or maple), natural finish, and an 18" seat height. All chairs have a gentle lumbar curve that supports the curve in your spine.
Low back vs. high back
From our experience, testers under 5'2" notice little difference between the two backs, whereas testers over 5'2" showed a clear preference for the high-backed chair.
Stools
Stools include choice of wood (walnut, cherry, or maple) natural finish, and choice of height. Stools have a seat height ranging from 12"-36". Unlike the chairs, they are backless.
Fun fact
The part you sit on is called the scoop. The scoop is what makes all of our chairs so amazingly comfortable-- the shape not only supports your bottom, but also tips your pelvis into what the World Health Organization refers to as a "proper seated position". We’re serious about butt-hugging technology!
